The trams are equipped with air conditioning, a modern audio system, and a digital passenger information system.

Seven of the 22 new Cottbus trams have arrived on site and are gradually being introduced into trial operation. The new vehicles will gradually replace the ageing Tatra trams but will initially operate alongside them.

The first seven trams were financed using the City of Cottbus’s funds and public transport funding provided under the Brandenburg State transport law. For the remaining 15 vehicles, a 90% subsidy rate was secured via the Investment Bank of the State of Brandenburg.
