Demikhovsky Engineering Plant sent 6-car AC EMU train ED9M to the Fast Eastern Railroad. This is the first AC EMU train with the use of the state-of-art technical solutions which have been applied since 2011 in the similar DC Emu trains ED4M.

The new EMU train will be used as an intermodal express and make trips on the route Vladivostok – Kievichi airport. Organization of express service is coincided with the 24th summit of Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation, which will be held in Vladivostok from the 1st till the 8th of September, 2012.

The most remarkable design features of the EMU train are plug&slide external doors, which provide an access both to the high and low platforms.

The head cars of the EMU train are equipped with ramps for loading and unloading of wheelchair persons as well as a place for wheelchair fixation in the car. Climate control system allows to maintain comfort temperature in the EMU cars all the year round.

More smooth motion, reduction of noise and more comfortable passage from one car to another are achieved due to installation of a backlash-free coupler and an airproof gangway.

The design of the EMU train widely uses LEDs , which allow to achieve bright and economic lighting in the compartment. External illuminating devices (pilot lights and signal lights) also are made on the basis of LEDs, which makes the train more noticeable during the motion at night time and it allows to reduce the risk of an accident.

Besides parcel shelves the EMU cars are equipped with luggage racks. The car compartments are equipped with TV sets. Moreover, the train is equipped with video monitoring system, which allow to monitor online the situation in the car compartments. General exterior of the train and its observability are improved due to installation of the modernized head car nose and rear-view mirrors, which is important for improvement of the safety of passenger transportation and working conditions of locomotive crew.
