OEVRZ Started Metro Cars Deliveries to Novosibirsk
Oktyabrsky Electric Railway Car Repair Plant (OEVRZ, part of CJSC Transmashholding) shipped four 81-540.2Н/541.2Н cars to Novosibirsk metro. This information came from the PR Department of the Holding.
The supply contract for metro cars was signed on December 29, 2012. Within 2013, four more cars of this series will be delivered to Novosibirsk metro (two head cars and two intermediate cars).
To technical features of the cars belongs the comfortable and easy-to-use layout of the driver’s cabin, which is equipped with the air conditioning system and a vibration-absorbing chair. For the car saloon trim, they will use materials providing for rubbing endurance and suitable for the full decontamination, removal of unauthorized inscriptions and advertisements. Passenger seats are supposed to be in vandal-proof version.
Design of air-intake and ventilation grids ensures even air flow distribution within the passenger saloon space. Outside the end wall, cars are fitted with facilities preventing passengers to fall on the track between the cars.
The Head of MUP ‘Novosibirsk Metro’, Mr. Vladimir Koshkin highlighted that deliveries are performed precisely within the stipulated timescale; this permits to deploy the metro development program in an efficient way. Car fleet replacement will allow to improve passenger service culture and to reduce traffic intervals, which turned to be particularly important with new metro stations being unveiled. Mr. Koshkin emphasized that new cars meet the most up-to-date requirements in regard to comfort, energy efficiency and serviceability.
Metro cars of OEVRZ production are successfully operated in metro systems of St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg and Novosibirsk since 2010.
