The DPPS, designed to protect depot staff from unexpected train movements, was first introduced in the United Arab Emirates in 2008 at three Dubai Metro depots. The system has since been implemented at three additional sites supporting the Doha Metro in Qatar, protecting 22 maintenance roads.
