Participants of the meeting noted that JSC Russian Railways and the SNCF have long-standing partnerships in the development of freight and passenger transport, the modernization of stations, and the use of modern technology in ticket sales. At the same time, rail transport is recognized as the most environmentally friendly and safe form of transportation.
During the meeting, the partners discussed prospects for developing new passenger routes, modernizing station complexes, and implementing other infrastructure projects in Russia and abroad (including high-speed rail projects). In particular, it was noted that French companies have 35 years of experience in the construction and operation of high-speed lines, and a consortium with the participation of the SYSTRA engineering company and SNCF has already signed a contract with JSC High-Speed Rail Lines, a subsidiary of JSC Russian Railways, for technical-advice services in the development of project documentation for the construction of the Moscow–Kazan high-speed rail line.
The parties agreed to continue a series of consultations to determine the most promising areas of cooperation and discuss specific joint projects.
