Hitachi Rail, in collaboration with NVIDIA, has launched HMAX (Hyper Mobility Asset Expert), a comprehensive AI-driven suite designed to optimize rail asset management across rolling stock, signaling, and infrastructure. Powered by NVIDIA’s IGX platform and Holoscan sensor technology, the system processes data onboard trains or at signaling centers, enabling real-time insights that slash analysis times from days to seconds.

The “edge-to-cloud” ecosystem allows operators to remotely monitor entire rail networks via a unified portal, enhancing maintenance efficiency and operational safety. NVIDIA’s Yogesh Agrawal highlighted the platform’s ability to boost rail system manageability, while Hitachi Rail CEO Giuseppe Marino emphasized AI’s role in driving immediate improvements in service optimization and performance.
