Watco-Intramotev Partnership: TugVolt Deploys in Wood River, Illinois

Intramotev and Watco have entered into a new customer agreement for the deployment of Intramotev’s TugVolt technology at Watco’s terminal in Wood River, Illinois. The technology, which utilizes battery-electric rail cars, is already in revenue service for Carmeuse Americas in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.
Watco and Intramotev Partnership
Watco, a rail, transloading, and logistics services company, will deploy Intramotev’s TugVolt technology on its network. The deployment will begin at Watco’s terminal in Wood River, Illinois. Watco operates more than 45 railroads, covering over 7,100 miles of track.
TugVolt Technology
Intramotev’s TugVolt technology, designed for battery-electric rail cars, is currently in revenue service for Carmeuse Americas in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. According to Intramotev CEO Co-Founder Tim Luchini, the technology aims to provide increased flexibility in yard operations, enabling customers to move freight efficiently.
