From a technological perspective, the train incorporates ERTMS signalling. It also features a full Ethernet TCMS with predictive diagnostics, and safety measures such as automatic fire detection and fire-retardant materials.

Fleet Renewal and Operational Impact

The launch of the new train is part of Trenitalia’s EUR 7 billion fleet renewal plan, which aims to replace 80% of its regional trains by 2027. This program will introduce 1,061 new trains, building on the 931 next-generation units already in operation.
