The *Inspiration* train, commemorating 200 years of railway history, commenced its Scottish tour with its arrival at Glasgow Central Station on Saturday 11 October.

Exhibition Features

The train comprises four themed carriages. These include *Railway Firsts*, which highlights significant moments in rail history; *Wonderlab on Wheels*, an interactive space designed for engineering exploration; *Your Railway Future*, which presents various career opportunities in the rail sector; and the *Partnership Zone*, showcasing pivotal milestones in Scotland’s railway development.

Tour Schedule

During October, the *Inspiration* train will visit five locations across Scotland. The schedule includes Glasgow Central Station (11–12 October), Bo’ness and Kinneil Railway (13–14 October), Strathspey Railway (16–17 October), Aberdeen Station (19–20 October), and Edinburgh Waverley Station (22–23 October).

Network Rail Scotland Commentary

Liam Sumpter, managing director of Network Rail Scotland, commented on the significance of the railway’s role in Scotland over the past 200 years, from its contribution to the industrial revolution to its ongoing relevance in connecting communities and supporting jobs. He encouraged public visits to the exhibition train.
