The League of Railway Women (LRW) has announced the opening of nominations for its 2025 Railway Woman of the Year Award. The award aims to recognize a woman in the rail industry who demonstrates leadership, innovation, and a commitment to safety and community. Nominations are due by October 10.

Award Criteria

The LRW is seeking nominees who meet specific criteria. These include establishing a strong vision while fostering continuous improvement and creativity, overcoming challenges and breaking down barriers—particularly those related to recruiting and retaining women in rail—driving innovation, demonstrating excellence within their organization and community, and championing safe rail practices while cultivating a culture of safety.

The winner of the 2025 Railway Woman of the Year Award will be honored at the National Railroad Construction & Maintenance Association (NRC) 2026 Conference & NRC-REMSA Exhibition. This event is scheduled to take place from January 7–10, 2026, in Hollywood, California.
