Contract Details
The contract, valued at €126.5m ($146.9m), requires the UTE consortium to install interlockings, train protection systems, fixed telecommunications, and the European Rail Traffic Management System (ERTMS) Level 2 over 70km. The project includes the implementation of a Centralised Traffic Control system (CTCS), which will enable remote and real-time oversight of rail operations.
Maintenance Agreement
The agreement between Hitachi Rail and Sistem includes a 48-month maintenance provision for all equipment installed under the project, commencing after the completion of the project.

ERTMS Level 2 technology supplied by Hitachi Rail is a central component of this project. Hitachi Rail has previously supplied signalling and telecommunications systems for over 2,800km of Spain’s high-speed rail network.
