Train Design and Features

The standard intelligent regional train is built on a standards framework. It integrates new technologies and has been upgraded in intelligence, safety, energy efficiency, operational costs, and passenger experience. The train is designed for speeds up to 200 km/h and is described as the “fastest automated rail vehicle” currently in operation.

Operational Capabilities

The standard intelligent regional train will operate on the Beijing–Xiong’an Express Line. It will reduce travel time between Xiong’an New Area and Beijing Daxing International Airport to 30 minutes and between Xiong’an New Area and Lize Business District to one hour. The train employs control technologies for self-sensing, self-learning, and self-decision-making, contributing to a reduction in operational failure rates by over 95%.

Technological Advancements

The train incorporates “hot-standby switching technology” enabling automatic switching to a backup system in case of failure.

Exhibition and Presentation

On 23 September, CRRC showcased the standard intelligent regional train, a 160km/h C-type regional train, along with other technological advancements at the China International Industry Fair 2025 (CIIF 2025) in Shanghai.
