Černovice Rail Line Reconstruction

The initial phase of the Brno railway junction modernization involves relocating the Brno-Černovice stop onto the railway bridge over Olomoucká Street. This new location will function as an interchange terminal, enhancing connections between trains and the city’s public transport system. The design team will prepare all required planning and construction documentation and oversee the works during construction. Geological surveys and land purchases are scheduled to commence immediately.

Future Development Plans

The second major contract is anticipated to be announced in August. This contract will encompass plans to redevelop Brno’s Lower Station, Horní Heršpice station, and the construction of the new main railway station. This stage will be conducted in collaboration with the city of Brno and is connected to broader urban development plans, including the creation of a new city district.

Advanced Signalling Systems

In the autumn, the third phase will concentrate on a technology building for advanced signalling systems and a new data centre. Designers will focus on fire safety and cybersecurity measures.

Židenice Area Upgrade

The final phase, also commencing this autumn, will focus on upgrading rail infrastructure in the Židenice area. Plans include moving the station closer to tram stops, relocating utility networks, adjusting nearby roads, and installing noise-reduction barriers.

Conclusion

The Brno railway junction project, with construction anticipated between 2028 and 2035, aims to increase capacity for both passenger and freight transport and prepare the network for future high-speed trains. The project is expected to provide a more efficient, accessible, and reliable rail system, enhancing transport options and the quality of life for Brno residents and visitors.
