Introduction

MetroLink, an 18.8km underground transport project in Ireland, aims to improve connectivity. The fully automated, driverless metro system will connect Dublin city center and its airport.

Project Overview

The consortium is preparing and submitting a proposal for MetroLink, currently in the pre-qualification and bidding phases. The project aims to improve connectivity, reduce congestion, and enhance sustainability in the Greater Dublin Area.

Consortium Partners

The consortium includes Alstom, FCC, RATP Dev, Meridiam, and John Laing. The partners bring expertise in infrastructure development, automated metro operation and maintenance, financing, and engineering. Their composition ensures a strong combination of metro leadership, technical capability, project management experience, operational excellence, and financial strength.

Partner Contributions

Alstom will contribute its experience in metro systems and railway technology. FCC will lead the civil engineering aspects. RATP Dev will provide operational and maintenance expertise. Meridiam and John Laing bring financial acumen and long-term investment capabilities. Ramón Gómez, Managing Director at FCC Concesiones, highlighted FCC’s extensive international experience. Romain Limouzin, Deputy COO Europe at Meridiam, stated Meridiam’s focus on transformative infrastructure projects. Andrew Truscott, Chief Executive Officer at John Laing, emphasized MetroLink’s national significance. Kristin Thorslund, Senior Vice President for Nordics and Ireland at RATP Dev, expressed pride in joining forces to bring RATP Dev’s global expertise. Piers Wood, Managing Director Ireland at Alstom, stated that Alstom is proud to partner for MetroLink.

Operational Expertise

RATP Dev is currently engaged in five major greenfield automated metro projects in Paris, Sydney, Singapore, Riyadh, and Doha. Their teams are recognized for successfully delivering complex metro projects, such as the seamless launch of Riyadh’s first metro lines and public transport network.
