Introduction

WESTbahn has initiated ticket bookings for travel commencing December 14, 2025, enabling passengers to book journeys up to six months in advance. This initiative aims to enhance travel planning for passengers, particularly during peak seasons such as Christmas and winter holidays.

Advance Booking and Seat Reservations

WESTbahn’s new booking system allows passengers to plan their journeys in advance. Customers can now secure travel tickets up to six months before the departure date.

All tickets include a free seat reservation via the WESTfixplatz system, which can be reserved online up to three hours before the train’s departure. Klimaticket Ö holders automatically receive a reservation.

Network Expansion and Service Areas

WESTbahn has expanded its services by approximately 20%, introducing its most extensive timetable to date. Ticket sales now encompass journeys across the network, including routes from Vienna Westbahnhof to Innsbruck, Bregenz, Lindau am Bodensee, St. Johann im Pongau, Munich, and Stuttgart.

Fares and Flexibility

The WESTsuperpreis offers attractive advance fares. WESTbahn continues to provide flexible options for passengers. Reservations can be altered free of charge up to three hours before departure. Tickets, excluding WESTsuperpreis fares, can be canceled without charge up to one day before the travel date.

Klimaticket Ö holders are eligible for reduced fares on cross-border routes, with prices set at EUR 19.90 to/from Munich, EUR 39.90 to/from Stuttgart, and complimentary travel to Lindau.

Future Services

The 2026 timetable will introduce WESTbahn’s initial operations on Austria’s southern route. Starting in March 2026, there will be five daily services connecting Vienna with Graz, Klagenfurt, and Villach. Ticketing information for these services will be revealed prior to their launch.
