Work on Belgrade-Pančevo started in late March 2014 and included the reconstruction of 16 km of existing rail, the construction and electrification of a new second track, the construction of two stations and two stopping points, a 242-m bridge across the Tamish River, and some small railway bridges. Three transformer substations and a signaling and telecommunications building at Pančevo Glavny station were also built. Works on gutters and restoring overhead lines and signaling and communication systems were also conducted.
In addition, at the request of the customer, RZD International conducted additional work to replace two overpasses with the installation of new metal sides. Thanks to the measures it took to optimize expenses, the company managed to reconstruct overpasses at no additional cost to the customer, ensuring traffic safety for passenger trains as well as for motorists.

As a result of the reconstruction of the Belgrade-Pančevo line, not only were train speeds increased from 30-50 km/h to 120 km/h, but capacity and traffic safety were also increased. The total cost of the project amounted to about $90 million.
