OEVRZ will Supply Metro Cars for Peterburg Metro

Oktyabrsky Electric Railway Car Repair Plant (OEVRZ, belongs to Transmashholding Group) and Peterburgsky Metropoliten have signed the contract for delivery of 160 metro carriages.

Until 2020 Peterburgsky Metropoliten will be delivered 20 eight-carriage trains fitted with asynchronous traction drives.

“Transmashholding pays much attention to developing relations with Saint-Petersburg Administration”, said Transmashholding’s General Manager Kirill Lipa. “I am confident that based on our expertise in metro production and cutting-edge technologies we will be able to deliver the comfortable and modern rolling stock to the northern capital metro”.

In June 2015 during the Saint-Petersburg Economic Forum, Saint-Petersburg Governor Georgy Poltavchenko and Transmashholding’s President Andrey Bokarev signed the Agreement on Coopeгation in Improvement of Northern Capital’s Infrastructure.

Oktyabrsky Electric Railway Car Repair Plant is one of the oldest Petersburg Companies. Metro carriages produced by OEVRZ are successfully operated in Saint-Petersburg, Ekateriburg and Novosibirsk. Development and production of metro cars is one of the key Transmashholding’s competences. Over 7,000 cars produced by the Company’s factories are in use in 19 cities in 11 countries worldwide, carrying over 16 million passengers daily.
