Expo Ferroviaria 2016
There has already been very strong demand for stands at next year’s EXPO Ferroviaria railway technology exhibition in Italy. By the end of 2014 more than 100 companies, including many of the industry’s most familiar names, had confirmed their participation in the event, with nearly three-quarters of available stand space now reserved.
Taking place at Turin’s Lingotto Fiere from 5 to 7 April 2016, this will be the seventh in a highly successful series of events. It will once again provide an unrivalled showcase for the very latest products and systems for main line and urban railway networks, covering all key market sectors including rolling stock technologies and fixed assets such as track and signalling.
The exhibition will occupy two halls at the Lingotto Fiere. Hall 2 will be the setting for the Infrastructure Area, dedicated to equipment and services specifically for this vital part of the market. A popular feature returning to this area will be the On Track Display – three sections of full size track used to mount displays of equipment and machinery related to track construction and maintenance.
Commenting on the industry’s enthusiastic response to this latest Turin event, Exhibition Director Olivia Griscelli said: “The high level of early bookings we have received for EXPO Ferroviaria confirms that despite challenging economic issues in many parts of Europe, there is underlying strength in the rail market in Italy. Clearly the industry is confident that this will create future business opportunities. Looking at the market more widely, our last exhibition here in 2014 attracted visitors from 64 countries, and we hope to achieve a similar level of international interest again at next year’s show.”
SHOW PARTNERS
EXPO Ferroviaria is endorsed by an impressive list of show partners. National railway company Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane has pledged its support. Also backing the event are the Association of Italian Railway Engineers (CIFI), ASSIFER – the Italian railway industries association, ANIAF – the Italian national association of trackwork contractors, and the Federmobilità regional and urban transport forum. Regione Piemonte, the City of Turin and Infra. To, which is responsible for managing and developing Turin’s public infrastructure, are also Show Partners.
Planning is in progress for a busy programme of activities alongside the exhibition. This is expected to include conferences and seminars using facilities located within the two halls, B2B meetings and technical visits to local railway sites. Details of these, a list of exhibitors and other news on EXPO Ferroviaria 2016 will appear on the show website.
Sharing the Turin venue with next year’s show will be INTERtunnel 2016, the fifth exhibition in Italy for the construction and fitting out of tunnels and underground spaces.
EXPO Ferroviaria is organised by Mack Brooks Exhibitions. A world leader in the management of trade events for the rail industry, the company stages successful regular shows including SIFER in Lille, France, Railtex and Infrarail, both in the UK, and Exporail in Moscow, Russia.
