Uzbekistan 2020 will invest about $ 10 billion on the development of transport infrastructure in the country, told RIA Novosti on Tuesday, the representative of the Ministry of economy.
The programme of action of the government in the near and long term in the field of transport infrastructure represented in Parliament, said the Agency interlocutor. According to him, the program provides for the implementation of more than 150 projects for the development of roads and Railways, logistics and communications.
In particular, 13 investment projects worth more than $ 3 billion will be spent on modernization and electrification of railway communications, including in the areas of Angren-PAP, Marokand-Karshi, Karshi-Termez, Marokand-Bukhara.
The program also planned the construction and reconstruction of 1.8 thousand kilometers sections of the Uzbek national highway (A-380 and a-373), new bypass roads in the city of Karshi, Kokand, Tashkent, Bukhara, Gulistan, modernization of local roads.
“One of the serious problems for Uzbekistan is the remoteness of transport and communications and the lack of direct access to sea ports. In this regard, external trade is transported through the territories of two or three States. In the result of rising costs for the delivery of goods, which negatively affects export competitiveness of enterprises of the Republic”, – said the representative of the Ministry of economy.
Earlier it was reported that in Uzbekistan on development of transport infrastructure will be invested to 6.9 billion dollars in accordance with the programme of infrastructure development, transport and communication construction in 2011-2015.
